The news isn’t surprising, and Navalny never quite stood the chance of taking over from Putin, who has shown again that he leads a ruthless regime that’s not afraid to eliminate his opponents. The news has caused shock and revulsion across the world. But financial markets, already on a rally, don’t seem discombobulated.
