WATERLOO REGION — A growing population without enough housing will help throttle a local economy that is usually more upbeat, a new economic forecast warns.
“Absorbing burgeoning population growth will be a local challenge,” the Conference Board of Canada, a prominent research agency, warns in a report on Waterloo Region released Aug. 8. “High national immigration targets will ramp up pressure on various bits of local infrastructure.”
